Jimani (Jim-An-I)
Real Name: James (Jim) Walters
Powers: Jim has the ability to rearrange the molecules around him, including those of his own body, and shape them into anything he can imagine. This only works on inanimate objects, although he can generate extra body parts for himself and others. Jim also has low level telekinesis ability but only over what he generates. He can deconstruct inanimate objects into their molecules and rearrange them or keep them deconstructed. He also has a low level ability to generate holographic illusions and project them from his hands. The holograms can be either transparent or opaque. Jim also has low level seer ability—the ability to see or sense spirits where they are, what level they are, and what their intention is.
History
Jim’s parents divorced when he was very young and he grew up in a broken home. His two siblings also exhibited supernatural abilities. He struggled for a long time within the family dynamic, being the youngest of three. Jim moved with his mom, Becky Price, to Rice Lake, Wisconsin at the beginning of high school. That’s where her political aspirations began. That’s also where Jim discovered his learning disabilities. Ironically, they enabled him to have a spiritual awakening at his new school, discovering his low level illusion and atom re-organizing ability. One afternoon he fell asleep in class and his dreams took on a form that everyone could see, which disrupted the entire class. The school officials didn’t appreciate the distraction, so they contacted Dr. John Cross Junior, the head educator of the Center For Troubled Teens High School, a school designed to train and educate supernaturally gifted teenagers. An interview was arranged during which Dr. Cross noticed that Jim was an extreme case, so he enrolled him into the Center. Jim was the the first new student at the school in 17 years, as the comic book explains. Once enrolled, Jim excelled academically and and learned how to control his abilities. He went with Dr. Cross to many recruitment appointments, helping recruit his friend Sherry Lee. Jim also helped recruit Liz Richie who later on became Jim’s best friend and confidant. Jim, Liz, and Sherry helped form the next generation team of supernatural crime fighters called the In-Siderz (who’s adventures are revealed in the book). Together they went on to recruit and train other supernaturally gifted teens to control their abilities and to fight evil.
